I’m an older PhD student at the University of Iowa looking for housing for the upcoming academic year.
Timing: August 21, 2026 – May 21, 2027 (some flexibility on dates)
What I’m looking for:
Studio, 1BR apartment, or a room in a shared place
Under $1000/month total (including utilities)
Within walking distance of campus or accessible by public transit
Lightly or fully furnished preferred
If it’s a room in a shared space, I’d need:
A room large enough for a full-size bed and a full desk setup
Closet or storage space for clothing
Kitchen access, as I cook all of my meals
Most important: a quiet living environment, especially at night.
A bit about me: I am quiet, clean, and respectful. I don’t smoke or drink, and I have a very busy academic schedule so I’m typically working, teaching, or at my desk. I don’t host parties and rarely have guests, so I’m a very low-impact tenant/housemate.
I’ve rented in multiple places and can provide references if helpful.
